A Devon car retailer has appointed one of the region’s most experienced sales managers to bolster its team.
Geoff Porter, from North Tawton, has taken the position at Barnstaple Volkswagen, bringing with him 34 years of industry experience from across the South West motor industry.
The 53-year-old began his automotive career straight from school, completing a diploma in automobile engineering management practice at Exeter College. He then secured sales executive positions at a number of South West car retailers, before becoming sales manager at an Oxfordshire retailer in 1980.
Since that time Geoff has worked in a number of management roles in Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Devon.
According to Geoff, the secret to sales success is customer service: “My aim has always been to provide exceptional service to customers.
“That’s why I’m delighted to be part of a friendly and professional team at Barnstaple Volkswagen that is dedicated to providing the best customer service.
“Having worked in senior management roles for over 20 years, I hope my experience will push other members of staff to even higher standards.”
