Three Shropshire Volkswagen businesses have launched a community based project that will see its staff give their time for worthy causes.
Employees from the Inchcape Volkswagen car retailers in Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and Telford will trade in their day job to work for a charity of their choice.
The ‘Inchcape in the Community’ project will provide employees with the opportunity to give something back to the local community.
This includes helping fundraising activities, working in charity shops and taking part in charitable events.
Speaking of the scheme, Andy Poole, brand manager at Telford Volkswagen, said: “This is about supporting the amazing work of our local charities.
“Employees are entitled to take time out and offer their services to a worthy cause without sacrificing a day’s holiday or pay.
“This new scheme is just a small gesture but one that Inchcape hopes will make a big impact and truly make a difference to ongoing work of charities in the Shropshire area.”
