Homecoming appointment for Reading manager

It’s a homecoming celebration for a Reading manager who has returned to lead the team that he originally began as a sales executive in 2002.

Craig Clapham, from Calcot, has returned to Ridgeway Volkswagen in Reading as the general sales manager.

The 35-year-old has dedicated the last nine years to the Ridgeway Volkswagen Group. Having initially started as sales executive at the Reading site, Craig has worked at four out of the five motor group’s Volkswagen showrooms, each time developing his career and enhancing his expertise.

With over 17 years of automotive sales experience, Craig is delighted to be returning home to Reading.

He said: “It’s good to return to the retailer where my Volkswagen career started. The past nine years have been invaluable in developing my knowledge and skills.

“Each site has very different needs and I intend to bring together my experiences and implement an efficient system that will enhance the customer service for Reading motorists.”

Simon McLaughlin, Volkswagen brand director for the Ridgeway Group, added: “Over the nine  years Craig has been with Ridgeway we have seen him develop from a very capable sales executive into one of our very best sales managers.

“We are delighted he has accepted this new position and it is great to see him back in Reading where it all started for him.”

The Ridgeway Group supplies both new and approved used Volkswagen cars and across its five sites in Reading, Newbury, Wantage and Oxford sites on Iffley Road and in Kidlington with Commercial Vehicles available at Reading and Wantage.
