A Guildford man who has dedicated his entire working career to the same employer, has put his loyalty down to the family friendly atmosphere.
Steve Cass, head of business at Colbornes Volkswagen Van Centre, joined the business in 1986 and now celebrates working 25 years at the site based on Moorfield Road.
Starting as a sales executive, Steve (51) climbed the career ladder learning how the business worked from the ground up, and is now responsible for maintaining and running the entire site.
Speaking of his 25th anniversary, Steve said: “I have always enjoyed my time at Colbornes Volkswagen Van Centre, it is really interesting to see how the range has evolved and how the industry has changed.
“Colbornes has continually supported my development and has always remained true to its roots.
“The company’s approach has made the job very enjoyable and that’s why I have remained loyal to the business.”
Steve could be celebrating a further 20 years at the business if his colleague, Terry Traynor, is anything to go by.
Sales executive Terry successfully still works at the site and will turn 71 on his next birthday.
Colbornes managing director, Richard Neulaender, said: “Steve is an example to all staff, showing how hard work and dedication can lead to a successful career.
“His input to the van centre has been invaluable and its success is very much down to his work ethic.
“Everyone at Colbornes is delighted for Steve and who knows he may be celebrating again if he’s anything like Terry!”
