Brewing up interest for campervan owners

A Volkswagen commercial vehicle business in Sheffield has turned the idea of a van centre on its head by installing a collection of its iconic campervans at the company’s coffee shop.

Recognising that customers spend time at the retailer whilst waiting for servicing, repairs or simply enquiring about new purchases, Gilder Group opened its Heritage Centre Coffee bar, operated by Costa Coffee, alongside the forecourt on Bochum Parkway.

Now, whilst enjoying an espresso or cappuccino, customers can also marvel over the latest incarnation of the California campervan along with other models from the Volkswagen Leisure range including the Caravelle and Transporter Kombi, complete with bicycle racks and roof boxes, provided by Gilder Van Centre

The coffee shop was opened in 2010, and is located between Gilder Volkswagen & Gilder Group Audi and provides an unique setting for customers to relax and enjoy a drink away from the traditional showroom environment.

David May, head of business for Gilder Van Centre said: “We wanted to create an relaxed environment so customers can explore our product range in a more leisurely manner and the coffee shop felt like the perfect place.”

The Heritage centre coffee shop is open weekdays from 0900 to 1730 and Saturdays from 0900 to 1700.
