A Paignton man is celebrating after achieving two landmarks in his career in the same month.
David Bennetts marked 25 years in the automotive industry just a few days after qualifying from his university degree.
The sales manager at Carrs Volkswagen Van Centre in Exeter, is only one of two people in the UK motor industry to have the Master of Science (MSc) strategic dealership management degree.
After passing all the qualifications available through Volkswagen, David wanted to continue developing his skill set with the four-year post graduate course.
The 48-year-old spent five years in insurance before a change of career to the motor industry and he hasn’t looked back since.
David said: “I’m thrilled to have completed my degree and for it to coincide with 25 years in the automotive industry is very special.
“Finishing my degree is just part of my philosophy about continuing to learn and develop myself, no matter how long I’ve been working.
“I’ve already passed a few tips onto my colleagues and I know my knowledge will spread through the van centre and eventually benefit customers.”
David’s achievements have been recognised by everyone at the van centre and including the head of business, Stephen Weedon.
He said: “David has proved to be a fountain of knowledge for the team at Carrs Volkswagen Van Centre and his degree is just reward for his dedication to learning.
“I know he’ll provide colleagues with positive ways of improving, which in turn will give customers a team of staff who are among the best in the country.”
