Frank’s next generation success earns him the bubbly

Speaking days before the start of the 2011 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, new boy Frank Wrathall said a top 10 finish or two would be incredible.

Roll the clock forward five months and the former Ginetta G50 Cup champion is celebrating the realisation of a dream, not only securing a fourth placed finish, at Snetterton, but winning the HiQ champagne moment in the process.

The Dynojet team driver proved his next generation touring car could challenge the big guns of the BTCC at the Snetterton circuit, earning him fourth place in race one and HiQ’s bottle of bubbly.

Fans were highly impressed with the young Preston racer’s ability to move up the field in races one and two, giving added hope for his performances in the remaining four rounds.

Frank received a majority vote of 46 per cent, while Gordon Shedden (21 per cent) and Daniel Welch (10 per cent) came in second and third.

Winning fan, Nicola Hill praised Frank for having ‘the highest qualifying NGTC car and his amazing results in races one and two’ and has won the opportunity to present Frank with champagne at a later race date. Nicola will also take a complimentary grid walk after one of the races.

Following every round, one lucky fan who has logged his or her details onto the HiQ website will be picked at random to present the prize to the driver and complimentary race tickets will also be provided, along with a grid walk of the track before one of the races.
