A business in High Wycombe is about to make its TV debut after being chosen to star in a national advert.
Citygate Volkswagen Van Centre based in Wooburn Green, was hand-picked by Volkswagen to star in two new TV commercials.
The Van Centre was identified as the ideal location due to its recent build completion in line with Volkswagen’s new brand identity, proximity to London and – as the largest Van Centre in the UK – the space it offered for filming.
The two, ten second commercials have been produced to support the launch of the limited edition Caddy Match in February and promote a new finance offer on Transporter in May.
The Caddy Match TV ad will be on air from Monday February 27th, running through to the first week of April.
Paul Weedon, brand manager at Citygate Volkswagen Van Centre, said:
“We feel extremely privileged that our dealership provided the perfect backdrop for showcasing Volkswagen’s new commercial vehicles.”
“Being involved in the planning was a real eye-opener and none of us realised that the two, ten second commercials would require more than eight hours of filming!”
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles advertising agency iris appointed director Ben Hume-Paton through Generator Films to produce the commercials, which required a number of recces of the dealership to help establish exactly where the filming would take place.
Pre-production and filming spanned two very long days. The 25-strong film crew worked more than 350 hours to allow for set building, rehearsals, preparation and actual live shooting.
Paul continues: “With so many people, props, lighting rigs and cameras around, we really did feel like film stars on a set! It was a great experience and everyone at the Van Centre can’t wait for the first airing.”
