Swindon school children name new housing development

A leading regional house builder has rewarded children from Penhill with national book vouchers having tasked them to name a new development in the area.

Persimmon Homes Wessex asked talented year six pupils from Seven Fields Primary School to name the new site on Cricklade Road, which will open its show home and marketing suite to buyers this Spring.

The youngsters came up with a total of eight names for the development and together with Persimmon Homes decided on Hazel Ridge.

Seven Fields class teacher Mr Cole, said: “We are always looking for new and exciting ways to engage the children and by getting them involved with this competition they have been able to learn more about the community in which they live.

“Many thanks to Persimmon Homes for providing the children with book vouchers and we look forward to taking this newly found partnership forward.”

Persimmon Homes Wessex, sales director, Pauline Fletcher, said: “As part of our ongoing initiatives to work closely with the local community, we wanted pupils to choose the new name and take great pride in their area.  We were so impressed with their creative suggestions and are delighted to name one of our forthcoming developments Hazel Ridge.”

Hazel Ridge is located just two minutes away from Seven Fields Primary School and will comprise of a range of two, three and four bedroom homes.  Those interested are being asked to register now by calling 01666 824721.
