Welcome boost for Devon charity

A Devon business is spreading some cheer by handing over thousands of pounds to a local charity.

Persimmon Homes South West raised almost £4,000 for Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT) by holding a charity auction for all of the furniture and ornaments in its Vitoria Green show home in Wellington.

Caroline Creer, fundraising director of Devon Air Ambulance Trust said: “It’s fantastic that Persimmon Homes South West has raised such a significant amount through their furniture auction.  Being independent of Government and National Lottery funding, events just like this go a long way in raising the £4.5 million we need to run this vital operation.”

Katie Alderton, field sales manager for Persimmon Homes South West, added: “We are pleased that our furniture auction raised so much money for the DAAT.  There were some extremely generous people who attended and we would like to thank them for their support. We are always delighted with our charity efforts that can benefit so many people in the local community.”

The DAAT covers all major incidents and in areas that have poor and restricted road access, including many areas of Exeter.
