A South Wales business is hoping to reduce fuel costs and become greener after introducing its first eco-friendly vehicles to its fleet.
Trade Parts Specialists (TPS), which transports automotive trade parts to Independent motor traders and bodyshops, has turned to the Volkswagen Caddy BlueMotion vehicles to help reduce its fuel consumption.
The three fuel-efficient Caddy vans were supplied by Sinclair Van Centre (Swansea), as part of its vehicle replacement programme. TPS presently operates a fleet a seven vehicles which supplies over 900 customers across the south west of Wales.
TPS manager, Stephen Mathews, believes the latest vehicles will help the company save money, fuel and ensure it plays its part in reducing CO2 emissions in Wales.
He said: “On average each of our vehicles cover 50,000 miles per year and in this current climate it is essential we consider ways in which we can reduce our fuel consumption.
“We have previously had Volkswagen Caddy vans and look forward to benefiting from the BlueMotion’s reduced CO2 emission levels and fuel usage. Our staff already enjoy the driver comforts so the increased efficiency is an additional bonus.”
Adam Lewis, Sinclair Van Centre Swansea’s sales manager, said: “The Caddy BlueMotion offers van operators a number of new benefits which will ultimately help business expenditure as a whole.
“Benefits, including the stop/start system, work extremely efficiently by cutting out wasteful fuel when waiting at traffic lights or when stuck in congestion and is ideal for daily driving needs of TPS.”
