A manager from a Wigan business is celebrating after winning a national motoring award.
Allen Blake, has been crowned Motor Trader magazine’s Sales Manager of the Year after demonstrating strong leadership skills and impressive financial results at Corkills Volkswagen in Wigan.
The magazine is the UK’s longest running publication for the car retailing professionals and recognises the industries top talent at its annual awards.
The 35-year-old, who joined the Wigan business just 18 months ago was praised by the judges for his leadership skills in identify the teams strengths and introducing processes which delivered tangible results which ultimately resulted in a impressive performance for the business.
Speaking of the award Allen, said: “I was delighted to be shortlisted and overwhelmed to actually be the overall winner.
“I have always enjoyed the motor industry and it makes me very proud to be recognised for what I consider to be my daily job.”
Corkills Volkswagen’s brand manager, Jacqui Kaye, said: “Allen joined us with an excellent track record and 18 years of automotive experience. He has accepted the challenge of developing a team of proven achievers to take them to big and better things.
“We already had good customer service mentality but Allen brought greater focus and direction that has increase footfall traffic and process that have strengthened the business performance.
