Bags full of treats for children’s hospice

A local children’s hospice has received a bundle of presents this Christmas thanks to staff at a Birmingham based furniture store.

Acorn’s Children’s Hospice in Bimringham (Selly Oak) took delivery of the gifts to help furnish the hospice and bring joy to their children and families courtesy of the staff at Cookes Furniture.

Dee McCann, representative for Acorns Children’s Hospice, said: “We are thrilled to have received these thoughtful and generous presents from all the staff at Cookes Furniture.

“This can be a difficult time for some families at the hospice so to receive such a kind gesture is one that all the children and families will appreciate over the Christmas period.”

Acorn Children’s Hospice Trust cares for life-limited and life- threatening children and their families from across the West Midlands. These children and young people are not expected to reach adulthood and require specialist care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Vanessa Hoe, marketing director for Cookes Furniture, said: “The Cookes team decided to come together this year and make Christmas that little more special for the children and families at Acorn’s Children’s Hospice.

“It’s such a wonderful cause and we thought that the gifts would make a well-deserved, but lovely treat this Christmas.”
