National recognition for Buckinghamshire business

A Buckinghamshire business, which only started operating 15 months ago, is celebrating after receiving national recognition for its work in 2012.

Citygate Volkswagen Van Centre, in Wooburn Green, was named the best van centre in the UK for its service department, and finished in third place overall, at the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles ‘Most Valued Van Centre’ 2012 annual awards ceremony.

The business, based in Holtspur Road, competed against 71 other UK Volkswagen van centres for the awards which measure customer satisfaction and business performance.

Head of business at Citygate Volkswagen Van Centre, Paul Weedon, who has only been managing the business since it moved to Wooburn Green in December 2011, was delighted with the awards.

He said: “To receive these two awards in just our first year as a fully-fledged business is a huge honour, and shows the excellent dedication and work ethic of the whole team.

“Winning the bronze award is testament to everyone’s hard work as they continually strive to deliver the best service. It makes me very proud and honoured to be working alongside such a dedicated group.

“In the current economic climate, it’s vital for businesses to ensure consumers are pleased with the service they receive, therefore it is essential we have a motivated and diverse team that all have the same common goal.

“Consistency is the key and while we have already made a good start to 2013, it’s imperative everyone continues to work together and looks to achieve even greater rewards this year,” concluded Paul.

Volkswagen Commercials Vehicles closely monitors all aspects of its van centres, from customer satisfaction and aftersales through to sales and key business performance. Scores are collated throughout the year, culminating in the annual result.

Paul received the awards, on behalf of the 27 staff at Citygate Volkswagen Van Centre from Myleene Klass, during the awards event in Edinburgh.
