Flying high with charity cash

A Devon housebuilder is set to give one regional charity a welcome fundraising boost having raised over £2,000.

Persimmon Homes South West and its employees managed to raise £2,156 by holding several fundraising activities throughout 2012 for their chosen charity the Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT).

Caroline Creer, fundraising director at the Devon Air Ambulance Trust, said: ““It’s fantastic that Persimmon Homes South West has raised such a significant amount.  Being independent of Government and National Lottery funding, events just like this go a long way in raising the £4.5 million we need to run this vital operation.

“We are so grateful for their continued commitment and loyalty to our cause, and so impressed with the ingenuity, enthusiasm and generosity of their fundraising activities.”

Katie Alderton, field sales manager at Persimmon Homes South West, added: “We are so pleased that our fundraising activities over the past year have raised awareness and a significant amount or money for the DAAT.

“Everyone at Persimmon Homes works tremendously hard throughout the year to raise money for our nominated charities.  DAAT is an excellent cause and one we are extremely proud to be associated with.”

In addition to the money presented to DAAT, Persimmon Homes South West has also donated £2,156 to both the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance Trust and the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.
