A football team from Peterborough has been given a season long boost thanks to one regional housebuilder.
Persimmon Homes East Midlands has confirmed a two year sponsorship deal with the Cardea Tigers, which sees the entire squad receive a red and black themed kit, including shirts, shorts and socks.
Team treasurer, Adam Youell, said: “Finding suitable sponsorship can be hard to come by, especially at the moment, and this is why we are so grateful to everyone at Persimmon Homes.
“The team has only recently been launched due to the high response of players wanting to join the existing team.
“The team worked outstandingly hard last season and this new sponsorship deal is a great reward for their exceptional efforts.”
The football squad plays in the Peterborough Sunday Afternoon League and trains at the Powerleague near Stanground College.
Cheryl Bissett, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes East Midlands, said: “We believe it is extremely important to support the local community in any way we can.
“The Cardea Tigers are a great example of hard training adults that show passion for their community. The team trains very close to our Cardea development, so we look forward to cheering them on this season.”
