The LABC Building Excellence Awards are about the essence of good buildings, and finalists are judged on how they perform from a construction and technical building control point of view.

The awards showcase buildings and design teams that have had to overcome  technical issues and difficult sites and have shown how they bring innovative and creative solutions to difficult problems.

With over 20 years’ experience in the housing and building industry, Ian oversees the prestigious Charles Church development, The Haven, in Swansea. The site has proven extremely popular since opening, and offers local people quality homes with unrivalled design.

When presented with the award Ian was praised for his exceptional service and innovative approach to building solutions, he said: “I am extremely pleased to have won this award. I very much enjoy working in the housing industry and enjoy the problem solving that comes with the job.”

“Charles Church is an excellent employer and I am very proud to bring home the trophy, not just for myself, but for the whole team who work extremely hard. I’m now looking forward to attending the national finals and we’ll just have to wait and see what happens there.”

All regional winners are invited to attend the national final taking place at The Brewery in central London and the overall winner will be chosen by a panel of prestigious judges.
