THE EARLY BIRD’S A WINNER

Two Maidenhead businesses have joined forces to provide early morning workers with the most important meal of the day.

Cordwallis Volkswagen Van Centre and The Grub Hub have launched a customer service initiative to provide the van centre’s service customers with a hearty breakfast while their vehicle was being worked on.

The van centre’s service department, which is based on Cordwallis Street, is now open from 7.00am every Friday to accommodate customers who would like to service their vehicle before they embark on their working day.

John Harkin, business manager at Cordwallis Volkswagen Van Centre, explains: “We understand the impact it has on businesses when their vehicles require servicing or MOT’s and we work hard to limit a vehicles down time.  The new Early Bird Servicing is aimed at getting van drivers back on the road as early in the day as we can.

“We encourage our customers to pop in, drop the vehicle off and we’ll give them a voucher for a breakfast baguette and a mug of something hot while they wait.”

As part of the Early Bird service, customers can choose from a range of options including a full service, interval service, MOT and service combined, brake pads and discs, brake fluid change, diagnostics or an air conditioning service.

This new scheme has been set up in conjunction with local business The Grub Hub, which is situated on the adjoining street.

Ron Churchill-Browne, owner of the Grub Hub, said: “We are delighted to be working with Cordwallis Volkswagen. This Early Bird service is a great idea and we are more than pleased to be providing customers with a satisfying start to their day with our breakfasts.”

John concluded: “The idea should ensure that our customers are not losing precious hours from their working day to get the work carried out on their vehicles. They can come in at 7.00am and hopefully be ready to start their working day by 9.00am.
