Building a bright future for Newcastle Great Park

Persimmon Homes North East has announced plans to build more new homes at Newcastle Great Park to diversify range and type of product to keep up with demand.

The leading housebuilder has provided the positive outlook as planning permission is granted to build a further 430 homes on land that was previously approved for office development.  It is anticipated that the associated increase in sales outlets and product range will allow for the completion of around 150 homes over the next 12 months.

The company have made a huge investment at NGP which is now growing into a strong sustainable community. Alongside the completion of the school and nursery the Great Park Community Centre including a multi use games area and sports pitches is scheduled for completion early next year.  The integration of all the residential neighbourhoods enveloped by the huge area of interconnected open space is really starting to see the community come to life with the growing network of footpaths and off road cycle routes well used by residents, workers and visitors.

Persimmon put the success of the development down to the diverse range of homes available to prospective buyers.  These include apartments, starter homes, a wide range of traditional family homes, large executive detached properties and a number of self build plots.

“A critical part of our strategy is the continued investment in new land and making best use of the land we already have to support the growth of Persimmon within the North East,” said Peter Jordan, divisional strategic land director for Persimmon Homes.  “We will always respond positively to the market and this is evident at Newcastle Great Park where we have ensured range and choice for all.  Partnership working with Newcastle City Council has been an important part of this and we remain committed to continue our good work to see the community grow and thrive.”
