Local man scoops holiday treat in motor dealership’s draw

A Newton-le-Willows man scooped a £1,000 holiday treat at the CarFest North festival, thanks to a Cheshire motor dealership.

Warrington Volkswagen – part of the CJ Automotive Group – donated the prize when it exhibited a full range of cars at the event organised by Radio 2 breakfast show DJ Chris Evans, at Oulton Park on 2-4 August.

Andrea Hodgson, fleet director for Warrington Volkswagen, said: “This year’s CarFest was even bigger and better than last year, and we had a fantastic time meeting the petrolheads and music fans who flocked to the event, held in aid of Children in Need.

“We organised a prize draw for people visiting our stand, and lucky Gareth Cross from Newton-le-Willows bagged himself £1,000 of holiday vouchers. We also pledged a pound for everyone who entered on the day, raising an extra £200 for the charity.

“The highlight of our show was the CJ Automotive Audi R8 Spider forming part of the Chris Evans ‘Magnificent Seven’ cars, taking a lap around the Oulton Park track.”

The CJ Automotive stand enabled visitors to get a close look – and even sit in – its full range of cars.

The weekend long event saw the gathering and circuit display of some of the world’s greatest cars, as well as live music from top acts such as Texas, Ocean Colour Scene, Jamie Cullum and Alfie Boe.

There were also air displays, motorcycle stunt team, dancing diggers, family entertainment and the ‘Britain’s Best’ food pavilion.

Warrington Volkswagen, based at Milner Street, is part of the CJ Automotive group and has won multiple industry accolades, including being named in the manufacturer’s One Business Awards, for its high levels of customer satisfaction on sales, servicing and parts.
