A Stowmarket golf pro is celebrating after teeing up a deal with a local business.
It’s the 10th successive year that the Stowmarket-based Volkswagen car retailer have given their support which will see local golf pro, Jon Markham continue to drive a Barnards branded Volkswagen in and around Stowmarket.
The sponsorship deal means the lucky golf pro gets a brand new car every six months to drive to and from competitions, with his current ride being a Volkswagen Golf 1.6 SE.
Jon, the head professional at Stowmarket Golf Club since June 2012, became a fully qualified PGA golf professional in 2005 enjoying success in Pro-Ams and winter alliances as well as reaching the final qualifying stage of The Open.
Speaking about the sponsorship deal Jon said: “I have been playing golf since I was 10 years old, so to have the backing of a respected local business is a dream come true.
“Attracting long-term corporate partners to this extent is a tricky task for all golf pros, so I am especially pleased to hear that my partnership with Barnards is set to continue.”
