DERBY BUSINESS GIVES ‘EGG-CELLENT’ EASTER TO POORLY CHILDREN

Staff from a Mackworth business took on the role of the Easter bunny when they visited the children’s ward at the Royal Derby Hospital to hand out chocolate Easter eggs.

Over 100 eggs were donated by employees from Imperial Commercials, on Ashbourne Road, who made the special delivery on Monday 14th April.

And, after confirming a fifth year of sponsorship with Derby County Football Club, its  mascot Rammie joined the Volkswagen van centre team as they transported the gifts to the hospital.

David Starr, head of business at Imperial Commercials Volkswagen Van Centre, said: “We were delighted that so many of our staff generously donated a chocolate Easter egg.

“Being poorly is never an enjoyable experience so we hope that our donation provided a small pick-me-up.

“It was lovely to meet the staff and children on the ward and we certainly felt that our special guest Rammie helped to put a huge smile on lots of the children’s faces.”
