From little Acorns

One of the country’s leading housebuilders is gearing up to start work on a £10 million housing development on Aqueduct Road.

Persimmon Homes South Midlands were given the go-ahead by Solihull Borough Council’s planning committee to build 100 two, three and four bedroom properties on the 13 acre site, named The Acorns, back in January and anticipate that work will get underway in August.

Accessed via High Street or Aqueduct Road the former grazing land will be transformed thanks to the joint venture between Persimmon Homes South Midlands and the Miller Group that will ultimately deliver 200 properties.

Speaking of the new development, Andy Peters, Managing Director at Persimmon Homes South Midlands, said “The Acorns is an exciting new development which will provide a range of properties that we are confident will meet the needs of the Solihull property market and create jobs for local people.

“We have chosen to name the development The Acorns in support of Acorns Children’s Hospices, a very special charity that we have chosen to raise money for over the last three years.”

In addition to the new properties the community will also benefit from a Section 106 contribution of over £100,000 made by Persimmon Homes that will help to fund improved public facilities and public open spaces.
