What do Eastenders, the Pudding Club, Pictionary and Crewe Volkswagen have in common?
They all turn 30 this year – along with Guns ‘N’ Roses, the first .com and the first no smoking restaurant in the US.
And while the BBC celebrate Eastenders’ 30th birthday with live episodes and nostalgic programmes, Crewe Volkswagen received a special birthday presentation from head office.
The Weston Road business celebrated its Pearl anniversary with a visit from Jason Webb, Area Sales Manager of Volkswagen UK, who presented Brand Manager at Crewe, Ben Gilbert, with a special plinth.
Crewe Volkswagen, which was recently best Retailer in Volkswagen’s UK network, is part of the family owned Swansway group, and Swansway Director John Smyth was also on hand to celebrate the occasions.
Ben Gilbert said: “Turning 30 is an incredible achievement for any business, especially considering the extremely difficult trading conditions of the recent recession.
“However, Crewe Volkswagen has continued to go from strength to strength, consistently delivering on all level, and last year but performed to such a standard that it was named number one in a league table of 200 retailers nationally.
“I am very proud of the business we have here, and of every member of staff, and we all very much look forward to the next 30 years.”
