Staff at a Wrexham business are celebrating after being named one of the best in the country in recognition of their hard work and customer service.
Volkswagen Van Centre Wrexham was awarded silver at the 2014 Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Performance Awards after beating 70 other van centres to receive the national accolade.
Alan Austin, sales manager at Volkswagen Van Centre Wrexham, said: “We were delighted to receive this award and it’s a real testament to the team’s hard work and commitment.
“Selling a van is naturally an important part of our business, however to be recognised for successfully meeting our customers’ needs and for delivering a level of service over and above the entire UK network of van centres is wonderful and a real achievement.
“It makes me very proud and honoured to be working alongside such a dedicated group.”
In addition, the Rhosddu Industrial Estate business, which is owned by the Swansway Group, was also instrumental in winning the ‘Group Performance’ Award.
Swansway also manages Volkswagen commercial vehicles sites in Liverpool, Preston and Birmingham. At the awards ceremony businesses within the group won three of the top four positions with the Liverpool business achieving first place and the Preston site coming in fourth – an achievement that has never been done by any other motor group before.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles closely monitors all aspects of its van centres, from customer satisfaction and aftersales through to sales and key business performance. Scores are collated throughout the year, culminating in the annual awards.
