Staff at a Liverpool business are celebrating after scooping three national awards in recognition of their hard work and customer service.
Volkswagen Van Centre Liverpool won gold at the 2014 Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Performance Awards and also picked up the Customer Satisfaction and Group Performance titles at a recent gala event hosted by the brand.
The Evans Road van centre is no stranger to winning having already accumulated nine Performance awards from the brand since the business opened in 2011.
David Cowan, who formerly headed up Liverpool Van Centre, has recently stepped up to the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle group director role for the Swansway Group, which owns the Liverpool business. Speaking of his team’s success, he said: “I am so incredibly proud of my team and couldn’t ask for more.
“The Liverpool van centre is still a relatively young business and my team has always worked hard to ensure our customers get the best service we can offer as well as exploring new opportunities to help grow the business. This has been evident in our continual stream of top performing awards from the brand, which now totals 12 in four years.
“To win the top title, which we also won in 2011, across the entire Volkswagen network of van centres makes me very proud. I have been with the Liverpool business from the start of construction and have been part of its continued success so winning ‘Gold’ in 2014 is a wonderful send off.”
As part of the Swansway Group, which also operates sites in Preston, Wrexham and Birmingham, the Liverpool Van Centre was instrumental in the motor group receiving the ‘Group Performance’ accolade which saw its Wrexham and Preston business win second and fourth place respectively.
A jubilant, Peter Smyth, Swansway Group director, commented, “What a night! Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles closely monitors all aspects of its van centres, from customer satisfaction and aftersales through to sales and key business performance. Scores are collated throughout the year, culminating in the annual result.
