Builder creates ‘oarsome’ dragon boat team

A regional housebuilder amassed an ‘oarsome’ team to compete in Lowestoft’s Dragon Boat Festival.

Persimmon Homes Anglia, which has its regional headquarters at Lowestoft, took part alongside dozens of local companies at the popular event on May 31st at Oulton Broad.

Andrew Fuller, managing director for Persimmon Homes Anglia, said: “The Dragon Boat Festival is a hugely popular event and an ideal opportunity for our staff, families and friends to get together for a fun day.

“We think it is important to play an active role within the communities where we build, so we were pleased to be once again taking part in this event, supporting East Coast Hospice.

“The event called for some creative teamwork from the Persimmon staff, and everyone had an excellent time.

“Most importantly, we raised £790 for the charity, which cares for many local families.”

The Persimmon Homes team includes staff from across the business. The crew included Mark Wilkinson, Simon Wood, Craig Rackham, Jason Barrett-Brown, Adrian Simmonds, Matthew Wright, Jasmine Mountford, Brent Titlow & Bob Charlesworth.

Persimmon Homes Anglia operates new homes developments across Norfolk and Suffolk.

The company is also currently supporting a range of regional projects through its Community Champions scheme, where local charities and groups can apply for match-funding. Persimmon is making two donations of up to £1,000 every month for a year.
