Extra seating makes MAN TGM the first choice for removal firm

International movers GB Liners add four TGM 18.250s to 70-strong fleet and are pleased there is room for all their crew.

An extra seat in the cab has proved to be a vital piece of kit for Hereford-based GB Liners and helped the firm make the decision to invest in four new vehicles for its fleet.

Managing director Rob Bartup says the three-man cab design is a benefit to his business because it means the removals teams can travel together in one vehicle.

He said: “It is unusual for an 18-tonner to have three seats, but the TGMs do as standard and that is really useful for us.

“We have had the two-bunk sleeper pods installed and with the sleeper cab that means accommodation for three as well. That is useful when we are on European trips.”

The trucks have been sold through MAN Finance and are expected to cover 500,000km over their lifetime. Two will be based at GB Liners’ Brighton depot, working in and out of Switzerland, one in Hereford and one in Scotland, both operating throughout Europe to meet demand.

Rob added: “The whole package, the spec of the vehicles and the finance arrangements made it an attractive deal for us to go with MAN again.”

MAN sales executive Stuart Beamand added: “The TGM model’s three seats met the customer’s needs and we are delighted that they opted to take four of the vehicles to add to their fleet, which already has about 12 MAN vehicles.

“We look forward to working with them in the future and meeting their business needs.”
