The 8848 team was extremely busy last week organising the Healthy Communities final event for our client Persimmon Homes.
The final, which took place last night at York Racecourse, was an unprecedented success and our stunning team was out in force to ensure it ran smoothly.
Persimmon Healthy Communities has donated more than £600,000 to support amateur youth sport in England, Wales and Scotland. The final 27 sporting groups each received £5,000. The two runners up – Sportsable and Park Wrekin Gymnastics club – both received £50,000.
Over the last few weeks, the public has voted in their thousands to decide which club would win the grand prize of £200,000.
And the winner is…
The Heart of England Community Boxing Club!
The prize money couldn’t have come at a better time for the club, which has been asked to vacate their current premises in just four weeks’ time to make way for a small housing development in the area.
The club found success in the competition by galvanising the whole community to vote for them.
Even Heavyweight Champion of the world, Anthony Joshua got on board to support the club’s cause and we can’t wait to see this deserving club expand and grow to make a difference throughout the Leicestershire community.
