1. World Record Egg – 53.9 million likes

Kylie Jenner’s reign as the most liked photo on Instagram came to an end when a picture of an ordinary egg popped up on feeds back in January. Not only does the photo still hold the record for the most amount of post likes, but 7.9 million people follow the egg-cellent feed!

Not only did the reveal of Stormi Webster stack up nearly 20 million likes, but it quickly topped the records to become the most liked photo on Instagram of all time, holding the title for just over a year. After much speculation about Kylie Jenner’s pregnancy, the reality star took to Instagram to share her special news with her 100+ million followers.

Earlier this year American rapper XXXTentacion was shot dead in Florida following a suspected robbery. After his death, fans took to his Instagram page and flooded his only post with likes – 17.4 million to be precise.

Earlier this year Tentree pledged to translate likes into planting new trees. At a time when environment protection is at an all-time high, it comes as no surprise to see this post amongst the top five most liked photos.

After receiving five million likes the company pledged to plant 500,000 trees in Indonesia, but the good news doesn’t stop there. With more post likes came more good news, as a result of surpassing 20 million likes the company pledged to plant a further one million trees.
