8848 Agency | Full Service Communications | Hitting The Headlines

Keep hitting the headlines

We’ve been extremely proud to support all our clients over the last few difficult weeks and we keep hitting the headlines.

The 8848 team has been busy communicating important information from clients to their audiences, and ensuring that they can stay in touch with customers through social media, digital marketing and PR.

Some of the initiatives that we’ve been able to shout about have been particularly inspiring and we wanted to share some of the stories we’ve been working on:

Ricoh 3D

Our client Ricoh 3D answered the plea of former England footballer Steve Bull to provide face shields to NHS hospitals across the Black Country.

Ricoh 3D had already used its innovative technology to design and produce the reusable face shield, which has been tested by staff at The Royal London Hospital who commented on its comfort over existing equipment.

The company is now in discussions with medical establishments and NHS Trusts across the UK about supplying the face shields. It has the capacity to produce upwards of 40,000 a week.

We were excited to work with Ricoh to get their story featured on BBC Midlands Today and in national media titles – including Sky News, Daily Mail websites, and key industry publications.

Nelson’s Gin

Nelson’s Distillery and School announced that it would begin distilling a Limited Edition Charity Gin, to celebrate, thank and raise funds for the NHS and its workers helping in the battle against COVID-19.

In tribute to the NHS, the gin is blue in colour, and Nelson’s donated between £10-15 to the NHS for every bottle sold. So far, Nelson’s have raised over £15,000 and have set a new target of £25,000.

They’ve been featured in regional and national press, including the BBC website, and we’re now working to spread the word of their ‘Hats off to our Heroes’ campaign. Watch this space!

Persimmon Homes

Over the past five years, Persimmon has donated £64,000 every month to various community groups across the country through its Community Champions scheme. As the nation started to feel the effect of the Covid-19 outbreak, our client felt that, at the moment, elderly communities were in the most need of support.

Over-70s groups across the UK can now exclusively apply for up to £1,000 of funding starting from April, and we’ve been humbled to be able to help in sharing this message to potential applicants nationwide.

Aside from that, Persimmon also gathered all its spare PPE normally used on their building sites and handed it over to be utilised by NHS doctors and nurses on the frontline, as the battle against Covid-19 intensifies. Donations included face masks, latex gloves, goggles, glasses and hand sanitiser.
