Staffordshire-based 8848 Communications has strengthened its team with two new appointments.
Sam Pollock has joined the full-service agency as a PR and content manager while digital marketing executive Georgia Homer is embarking on a degree apprenticeship.
Sam graduated from Leeds Trinity University in 2015 with a 1st Class BA Hons Degree in Sports Journalism and since then has worked in various communications roles, most recently for Williams Group. He managed all of their social media accounts, covering franchises for BMW, MINI, Jaguar, Land Rover, BMW Motorrad and Williams Select.
He said: “A highlight was managing a successful communications campaign for the opening of a new £41m flagship retail centre in Manchester through local, regional and national press. I am excited to join 8848 and relishing the challenge of helping a range of clients achieve their PR goals.”
Outside of work Sam is a fan of all sports, but especially football and is a passionate Liverpool FC supporter. He’s getting to know the local pub and restaurant scene with family and friends and enjoying long walks at the weekend with cavapoochon Buddy.
Nineteen-year-old Georgia, who attended Chase Grammar School where she gained three A Levels, is thrilled to have landed her new role.
She said: “Joining 8848 to do a digital marketing degree apprenticeship was definitely the right move for me. I’m loving getting to know the amazing team here at the farm and can’t wait to get more involved with new and existing clients.”
Hazel Crawford, managing director at 8848, said: “The past 15 months have been challenging for all businesses, but I am delighted to be coming out of the pandemic with two new hires.
“Sam brings with him a wealth of experience that I have no doubt will prove invaluable, while Georgia’s appointment demonstrates our commitment to helping young people starting out on their career.”
