Google has begun automatically surfacing social media posts on Google Business Profiles.

The new feature automatically displays social media posts from popular platforms like Instagram and Facebook directly on your Google Business Profile (GBP).

Automatic display of social posts

Businesses that have linked their social media profiles to their GBP may see their posts automatically appear on their Business Profile.

Current availability

This feature is currently in a limited rollout and might not be available in all regions just yet.

Manage your social presence

You can control which social media links are displayed on your GBP. Google allows you to add one link each from Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube.

Link formatting matters

Ensure your social media links follow the specific formats outlined by Google for proper functionality within your Business Profile. For instance, a Facebook link should follow the format “https://www.facebook.com/{username}” and an Instagram link should be formatted as “https://www.instagram.com/{username}”.

Adding, editing, and removing links

Managing your social media links is simple. Just access your Business Profile, go to “Edit profile,” then “Business information” followed by “Contact.”  Under “Contact,” you’ll find the option to “Social profiles” where you can add, edit, or remove links.

Automatically added links

One thing to be aware of – Google may automatically populate social media links for eligible Business Profiles. If you need to make changes, simply add a new link for the same platform following the above steps.
