Higgs staff complete charity run

All 18 runners from Black Country law firm Higgs & Son completed a charity race on Sunday putting them well on their way to their fundraising target.

The intrepid team tackled a taxing course in the second annual Resolution Run held at Hagley Hall, raising much needed funds for The Stroke Association.

Joint first past the post for Higgs in the 5k were Matt Dudley and Mark Hand in a time of 30.25 with Jenna Louise Beckett only two seconds behind.  In the 10k, Steve Chaplin was first the Higgs runner to finish.

Tim Jones, head of the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, said: “To date we have raised £1,238 of the £1,500 target we set for this race alone – an incredible amount thanks to the efforts of all the runners.

“The Stroke Association is our nominated Charity of the Year and I am delighted that so many Higgs & Sons’ employees took part in this first major fundraising challenge for them.”

The Stroke Association campaigns to improve stroke care and aims to support people helping them to make the best possible recovery. It funds research into new treatments and ways to prevent stroke.
