A group of intrepid colleagues from a Derby van centre completed a notoriously tough climbing challenge, raising £4,000 for a stroke charity.
The 16-strong team from Imperial Commercials Van and Truck Centre successfully accomplished The Three Peaks Challenge raising funds for the Stroke Association.
High winds, rain and even snow did not deter the trekkers who scaled Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon – the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales – in just 23 hours and 15 minutes.
Emma Bulgin, the HR officer at Imperial Commercials, expressed the teams’ thanks to all its customers and friends who helped the van centre reach its fundraising goal.
She said: “We are very grateful to everyone’s kind donations and support that helped make this event such a great success.
“It was a complete team effort with extra colleagues driving a fleet of Volkswagen Shuttle vans as support vehicles, allowing the climbers to preserve their energy ready for each ascent.
“The weather could have been kinder but the team kept motivating each other to ensure they accomplished the challenge.”
All the money raised will go to The Stroke Association to help make a difference to stroke sufferers and their families through supporting the charity’s ongoing research.
