Connect PR is to work with one of the UK’s leading oil blenders after being appointed to handle all trade and motorsport PR for the Shrewsbury based manufacturer Morris Lubricants.
Morris Lubricants, which this year celebrates its 145th birthday, has appointed the Wolverhampton-based agency to drive home key brand messages through its diverse range of motorsport sponsorships, which include British Touring Cars, British Rally Championship, British Truck Racing Association Championships and the Drive DMACK Fiesta Trophy.
Connect PR will also promote Morris’s products within automotive, commercial vehicle and agriculture markets.
Speaking of the win, managing director, Hazel Crawford, said: “2014 has been an excellent year for the agency. In addition to delivering further campaigns for the UK’s biggest housebuilder, Persimmon Homes, and driving up awareness levels for brands like Volkswagen, Yale, Johnstone’s and Selco Builders Warehouse, we’ve also added new clients to our portfolio including Autoglym, Scotts of Thrapston and Palletline.
“We will use our many years of sports sponsorship experience to maximise results for Morris Lubricants and raise awareness of the brand in key strategic markets.”
Craig Bastable, marketing manager, Morris Lubricants, joined the firm six months ago to spearhead the company’s growth in both the UK and international markets. He said: “In the last six months we have conducted a full audit of our communications programme and put our long-term marketing strategy in place to support the growth of the business.
“The appointment of Connect PR, with its wealth of automotive experience, is part of this strategy to help us build the profile of the brand in key growth markets.”
